About this project

Useful information can open doors.

DeafU is building a public guide to community access in the United States, with information for people seeking services and for the people who provide them.

What you can use today

Start with a small set of nationwide resource links and practical communication guidance. Every listed resource links to its own website so you can confirm the latest details.

What comes next

We plan to add more reviewed resources and original signed videos. The six planned video spots currently reuse one clearly labeled test clip. Videos load from YouTube only when a visitor chooses to play one. Written information remains available alongside them.

Our approach

Access needs differ. DeafU aims to use clear language, cite its sources, and make each page usable without video or a mouse. We will improve the site through review with Deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind people.

DeafU is an information guide. It is not an emergency service, a substitute for direct advice from a provider, or a directory of every local program.
